Excel for Educators
Your time is valuable. We can show you how to automate time-consuming tasks with Excel.
One of the biggest ah-ha! moments we had as instructional coaches and district administrators was how much time we could save if we used Microsoft Excel, a commonly available but largely under-utilized software!
The problem was the most of the trainings available on how to use Excel are designed for the private sector, not for educators. It's one thing to learn how to build a pivot table to identify how many Volvos are on a car lot, but quite another to figure out how this relates to your student data.
We built this training for you.
When we were developing Excel for Educators, we drew upon our prior roles as instructional coaches, school, and district administrators. Then we piloted the course with special education staffing specialists, instructional coaches, and administrative deans/behavior interventionists. We listened to their feedback, made edits, and created an Excel training for designed just for educational leaders.
Every activity is relevant to your work. And every module is designed to save you time and to help you take the first steps toward becoming a true data ninja.
Centered around YOUR student data questions
Each activity is designed around questions that you have about your student data, like:
- Which grade 4 students need the lowest gains in order to score proficient on next year's state math test?
- How many referrals did male students in the school receive so far this year, vs. female students?
- How can I bring in student test score data and referrals onto the same file so that I can analyze this data together?
Step-by-step, printable guides
Because sometimes you don't want to re-watch a 12-minute video to remember how to write a specific formula or insert conditional formatting, we've created printable guides for the most common activities. These modules are accompanied by Handy Handouts, designed to be saved or printed for easy reference the next time you want to use an Excel function but can't quite remember how.
Support and Community
When you enroll in this course, you also have full access to an online support community, where you can:
- Ask questions if you get stuck on any of the activities
- Provide feedback to course developers and request additional content
- Share how you're using the Excel skills you're learning in the course
We designed this course to be relevant to YOU, so we use your feedback to constantly improve the course and provide the resources and support that you need.
